This year, Foleon turned 10! We've made great memories and hit impactful milestones along the way. We'll take you on our 10-year journey in the carousel below. Scroll to the right. ✨

The start of it all

In 2014, Joost and Daan founded Instant Magazine, a tool for creating digital magazines - THE alternative to PDF.

Attracting talent

To build a business, you need people. Why look far if you can find a solid human resource in the comfort of your home? Foleon’s first hire was Daan's wife, Sabrina.

Expanding horizons

In 2016, Daan and his family spent three months in New York, tackling the challenge of breaking into the US market. While it was tougher than expected, the hard work paid off.

Rebranding to Foleon

In 2019, we gave up Instant Magazine to embrace Foleon. We realized people used us for much more than digital magazines. It was time for a new name. Foleon comes from Folio, Latin for leaf. And On stands for online/interactive.

Foundational change

In 2021, we introduced the most expensive button on our platform: Undo/Redo. A game-changer and essential for content creation. It required us to restructure our entire backend, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly functionality.

Anyone should be able to create and publish great content quickly without any design skills. In 2023, we introduced a new solution: the Content Builder. Ensuring that creativity flows without risking design integrity.
